The chairs were upholstered easy chairs on wheels this made for a very nice change from the usual upright, hardbacked chairs found at most restaurants. We were greeted by a very cheerful hostess who put us through the required Covid check quickly and painlessly and then led us to a nice table near the fire.

The dining room was decorated beautifully for Christmas, and there was a crackling fire in the fireplace which lent a delicious warmth and a touch of smokiness to a particularly cold winter afternoon. The hotel and restaurant are built with river rock both inside and out this creates a very rustic, romantic feel to the place that is extremely. We decided to go to The Cabin restaurant to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary with a special afternoon luncheon. If they could step up presentation, the patio, and help the servers to be a bit more polished, The Cabin would definitely be one of our special “go to” places. With a few extra touches and a little creativity this place could be awesome. The Cabin has the potential to be…as I said, it is a Diamond in the Rough. The food seemed pricey, but what isn’t anymore?
We both got the pasta and shrimp special which was quite good.

My spouse ordered the lobster bisque and I got a small wedge salad. The service did not flow with timed courses throughout the evening as you would expect at a restaurant of this caliber. Long enough I almost went to enquire as to what was going on with our drinks. Although, there was a long time between ordering and receiving the drinks. We broke it down for him and he did return with two yummy non-alcoholic drinks that the bartender created. It made no sense that a server could be unsure whether this request could be accommodated. We asked for a “Mocktail” and he stood there looking at us like we asked him to take off his right shoe and set it on the table. When he did make his way over he asked us what we wanted to drink but we had not been given a drink or wine list. We were not greeted promptly by our server. The patio could have used more in the way of planters or flowers. We reserved a table on the patio and it was a perfect night for it. Nice seating areas are arranged throughout.

The restaurant had a rich and luxurious feel when we walked into it. Italian Restaurants for Lunch in Aurora.American Restaurants with Outdoor Seating in Aurora.Hotels near (BKL) Burke Lakefront Airport.Hotels near Ray Harmon Park and Flying Field.
